Constellation 3-Globe — Smoke & Black

The same three globes and the same fixed stagger as the opal version, in smoked grey glass on matt black stems. The difference is not only colour: smoked glass is transparent, so you see the lamp inside it.

That makes it the warmer of the two at low output and the harsher of the two at full. Put it on a dimmer and it earns its keep in a study or a snug; leave it undimmed over a work surface and the visible filaments will glare.

Black stems disappear against a dark ceiling, which is why this version tends to end up in rooms with a deep wall colour and the opal version in pale ones.
